Terms & Conditions

Plain-language summary (not a substitute for the full terms): BEAM helps you maintain real relationships. Use it like a decent human — don't spam, don't upload contacts you have no right to use, pay for Pro if you subscribe, and remember that the people in your network are people, not leads. Your statutory consumer rights always stay intact.

1. Who we are

The BEAM application and the beam.app website (together, the "Service") are operated by Gel-Lab sp. z o.o., with its registered office at ul. Legionów Polskich 109/23, 41-300 Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland, entered in the Register of Entrepreneurs of the National Court Register under KRS no. 0000596923, REGON 363525313, NIP 6292473782 ("we", "Gel-Lab").

These Terms form an agreement between you and Gel-Lab. By creating an account or using the Service you accept them. Processing of personal data is described separately in our Privacy Policy.

2. The service

BEAM is a relationship-management application that, depending on the options you enable, allows you to:

  • merge contacts from sources you choose (phone, Google, LinkedIn) into a single base;
  • receive signals about moments worth acting on (e.g. birthdays, anniversaries, job changes, calendar-based meeting recommendations);
  • compose and send outreach via your chosen channels (e.g. email, WhatsApp), optionally with AI-suggested drafts and a personal invitation link valid for 24 hours;
  • build a network of connections ("Beams") with two visibility levels (Strong and Normal), endorse connections' expertise, communicate via Beam Messenger, and — with Beam Pro — share private intents (Hire, Vouch, Business) with selected circles.

The free tier includes the core features; certain features are part of the paid Beam Pro subscription (section 7).

3. Accounts & eligibility

  • You must be at least 16 years old to use BEAM.
  • You sign in with an Apple, Google or LinkedIn account; you are responsible for keeping access to that account secure.
  • You agree to provide accurate profile information and not to impersonate anyone.
  • One account is for one natural person; accounts are not transferable.

4. Your contacts & content

Your data stays yours. You retain all rights to the contacts, notes, tags, messages and other content you add to BEAM ("Your Content"). You grant Gel-Lab a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, process and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, subject to legally required retention.

Other people's data. Your contact base contains other people's details. By connecting a source or adding a contact you confirm that you are entitled to use that data for personal relationship management and that doing so does not violate the law or third-party rights. You must not upload purchased lead lists, scraped databases or other bulk contact data.

Responsibility. You are responsible for the content of messages you send through or with the help of BEAM, including AI-assisted drafts you approve.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use BEAM to send spam, unsolicited marketing at scale, or messages that are unlawful, harassing, deceptive or hateful;
  • upload malware or attempt to breach, probe or overload the Service;
  • scrape, harvest or systematically export other users' data;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or create derivative works of the app except where the law permits;
  • use the Service to violate anyone's privacy or intellectual-property rights, or for any purpose prohibited by law;
  • resell or commercially exploit the Service without our written consent.

We may suspend or limit accounts that materially or repeatedly violate these rules (section 12).

6. Invitations & messaging

  • BEAM never sends messages autonomously: every outreach requires your explicit action, and you approve the final content.
  • Invitation links contain an encrypted, authenticated, 24-hour payload identifying the inviter. They must not be posted publicly or distributed in bulk.
  • Where you contact people who are not BEAM users, you are responsible for ensuring the contact is lawful (e.g. that a personal birthday message is an appropriate, individual communication rather than direct marketing requiring consent).
  • Channels such as email and WhatsApp are third-party services governed by their own terms (section 9).

7. Beam Pro & payments

  • Subscription. Beam Pro is a recurring subscription purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Price and billing period are shown in the app before purchase.
  • Renewal & cancellation. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled in your app-store account settings at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period.
  • Withdrawal (EU consumers). You have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services. By starting to use Beam Pro immediately, you request immediate performance; if you withdraw within 14 days, you may owe a proportionate amount for the service already provided, in line with consumer law. Refund handling for app-store purchases follows the relevant store's process.
  • Price changes. We will notify you in advance of any price change; it applies only from the next billing period, and you may cancel before it takes effect.
  • Taxes. Prices include applicable VAT unless stated otherwise.

8. Intellectual property

The Service — including the BEAM name, logo, design, software and content we created — belongs to Gel-Lab or its licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on your devices for its intended purpose. These Terms do not transfer any intellectual-property rights to you, and nothing here limits your rights to Your Content.

9. Third-party services

BEAM interoperates with third-party services you choose to connect or use — Apple, Google, LinkedIn (sign-in, contacts, calendar), WhatsApp and email providers (message delivery), and app stores (distribution and billing). Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions. If a third party changes or withdraws an interface we rely on, some features may be limited; we will use reasonable efforts to provide alternatives.

10. Availability & changes to the service

We provide the Service with due care, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability — maintenance, updates and factors beyond our control may cause temporary downtime. We may develop, modify or discontinue features; if a change materially reduces functionality you have paid for, we will inform you in advance and you may terminate before it takes effect (with a pro-rata refund of any prepaid, unused period).

11. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law — including our liability for intentional misconduct or for non-conformity of digital services with the contract under EU and Polish consumer law.

Subject to the above, we are not liable for: the content of messages you choose to send; the conduct of other users or of your contacts; your breach of section 4 or 5; or indirect losses unrelated to our breach. BEAM is a tool that supports your relationships — decisions and communications remain yours.

12. Termination

  • By you: you may stop using BEAM and delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Account → Delete). Deletion is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
  • By us: we may suspend or terminate your account for material or repeated breach of these Terms, after notifying you and — where appropriate — giving you a chance to remedy the breach, except where immediate action is required by law or to protect other users.
  • Termination does not affect acquired rights, including statutory refund rights for paid periods where applicable.

13. Complaints

You can submit complaints about the Service to support@beam.app or by post to our registered address. We respond within 14 days. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr) and have the right to use out-of-court complaint procedures, including those before Polish consumer ombudsmen and the Trade Inspection.

14. Changes to these terms

We may amend these Terms for valid reasons — legal changes, new features, or security needs. We will notify you in the app at least 14 days before material changes take effect. If you do not accept a change, you may terminate before it takes effect; continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of protections granted by the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and disputes may be brought before the courts competent under generally applicable rules.
